The White Sox are part of a uniquely historic Chicago neighborhood filled with wonderful eating and drinking establishments. In and around U.S. Cellular Field, fans are treated to great food and good times at many of the finest restaurants and bars in the city. It is a friendly area where White Sox fans can talk about the game or catch up on life. Along with the many first-rate establishments listed here, Chicago's Chinatown is not far from the ballpark. Plus, U.S. Cellular Field itself has something for everyone - pizza, ribs, hot dogs and much more! So take the family out to eat, or join your friends for a drink. It's all part of the White Sox community.
In 2003, the Chicago White Sox and U.S. Cellular forged a unique partnership, renaming the ballpark U.S. Cellular Field. This agreement created the opportunity for dramatic, fan-focused renovations and improvements to the park. A fully renovated U.S. Cellular Field is expected to be completed by Opening Day 2005. The ballpark, built in 1991, underwent a number of renovations during the offseason that White Sox fans will enjoy throughout the 2004 season and beyond.
